Fallen

Fallen is just another story that I had thought of and planing on writing it. Its a half-horror-half-sci-fi story. I will be writing this story in the form of a journal which is in the point of view from the main character. Hope you enjoy

It is indeed a map different from I saw before in my life. It is a big map, not the size of it but its content. Many squares drawn in the map, each with the same width and length. On left side and below of the map there are numbers. Which makes me thought that those squares were just actually coordinates. But what made me said this map is different is actually the big picture behind it. It looks more like a world map, a world map which I never see before. The colors of the map were just simple, green and blue that's it. Around the right bottom corner of the map, there's a small green circle which is in an irregular shape. The shape made me thought that it might be an island. Above the island there were a word written Fillion. This has made me curious. How could it be? From I was born, I was told that Fillion is the only land in this world, the only land, the only world. Then I looked up the map, I saw that there are bigger parts of those green irregular shapes. Some stick together, some apart.

"Is it still stupid to you now, Mr Palmore?"
"Well... ya. Where did you get this thing? I believe this doesn't appear in any bookstore or library across the street right?"
"By the beach, in a bottle. When I saw it, it was just lying on the beach, I guess it's just came from somewhere from the ocean and was being brought up to here."
"The question is... where?"
"I don't get it"
"Try think of it Charles. Do you know any place that is beyond the sea?"
"Erm... not really"
"If then where did this thing came from!? Try look at this" I pointed out the part of the map that was written 'Fillion ' on it. "What's this about?"
"It's just where we stay, nothing special"
"Then what about this?" I pointed to the other parts of the map.
"We don't stay here, but where are all these places? Are there any people out there except here? Or does all this places exist?"

I shot a look to Charles for an answer. He wanted to say something, but he kept it back.
"I don't know, I hope i knew. Maybe this is just a piece of paper someone drew for fun."
"Then why this man would wanna keep it in a bottle? I don't think its that easy. We needed answers."
"But how do we get the answer?"
"I know just the right man to ask."

I m beginning to write this journal since I had left home. After leaving home i realized that eventually where I stay, what I see i just so small. I'm on my way to see a bigger world outside, to see a world which is beyond my past life. I decided to write journals when i started to head out for this journey, as a dairy of my life outside home. My journey has begun.

Ryden. One of the small town in the island named Fillion, a place where I have my life in for the past 15 years ever since I was born. I never knew Fillion was an island and there's lands beyond this place until one day I found it out....

The sun was hanging high up in the sky, shining down at the shore of Ryden. I was lying down on the golden sand of the beach, letting the sun to shine down at me and feeling the great breeze of the sea. I was enjoying at that moment until a sound came by that broke the enjoyment. "I have found something, Alder!"

It was Charles. My best friend, my brother, my family in my whole life till now. I never had a family since I was born in this town, my parents were dead three years after I was born, in a car crash. Then I was taken care by the Ryden Orphanage. Charles was the first friend and only friend I had in that time. For what I was told, his family, the Kinder family was all murdered in one night and he was the leftover. We grew up together all the way long, and we are family to each others.

"What is it? Another weird sea shell you found again?" I was still closing my eyes, trying to make joke out of him. There's one thing funny about this guy is that he always love to look out for things that he thinks is interesting or weird.

"No! Its not a sea shell this time, Alder Palmore. Its a map!"
"Map, huh? you know what, Charles. Stop showing things that you think is fun."
"No, its not fun. It is a map."
"Oh, c'mon what's so good about a map!? Can't you see I'm enjoying here."
"Just take a look and you will know what am I talking"
"Its holiday, Charles. Let me have a rest here will ya?"
"Just look!" This time he really is getting aggressive, he shook me hard making me starting to go a little dizzy.
"Okay, okay!"

I slowly opened up my eyes and turn my sight towards Charles's hand. He is holding a paper that look old. "Give it over" I grabbed the paper out of his hand and had a look. It is indeed a map, but it looked different from those maps that we always see on this island.
